Dr Okafor U.A.C is a Physiotherapy graduate of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Nigeria in 1996. He also obtained his MSc (2003) and Ph.D (2013) from the same University. He is the first to obtain a Ph.D from any Nigerian University in the specialty of Ergonomics/Industrial Physiotherapy and also the first male Ph.D graduate from the Physiotherapy programme of the CMUL. He has supervised and mentored over 50 undergraduate and 20 postgraduate students. His core interests are Ergonomics and Occupational health and Safety with a bias in Road transport safety. Dr Okafor belongs to many professional/research groups. He has 37 publications in both local and international journals and has also won Faculty Research Awards at many University Research Exhibitions and Fairs.He is currently involved in aCentral Research Committee (CRC) Research Grant titled ‘injury incidence, development of assessment and preventive instruments for musculoskeletal disorders associated with smartphone and other hand-held mobile devices usage in Lagos, Nigeria’.
