Prof. H. A. Olaniyan, LL.B. (Ife), LL.M. (Lagos), Ph.D. (Ife) joined the Faculty as a Lecturer II in 1991,was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2001 and was appointed a Professor in February 2016.He teaches and conducts research in the areas of Nigerian Legal System, Jurisprudence, Conflict of Laws and Diplomatic and Consular Law. Prof Olaniyan has held several posts in the University including two terms as Head of Department, member of the University’s Business Committee of Senate and Chairman of the University’s Anti-Corruption Committee. He is presently serving as one of the Consultants to Nigeria’s Inter Ministerial Committee in Preparation for the 4th Cycle United Nations Universal Periodic Peer Review (UPR).  He is a member of the Nigerian Bar, Nigerian Society of International Law and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators of Nigeria.
