PROFESSOR OF CLINICAL CHEMISTRY AND MOLECULAR DIAGNOSIS

I am a Clinical Chemist with research expertise in Cancer Genomics and Molecular Diagnosis. A fellow of several prestigious institutions including the Royal College of Pathology (UK) and, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and Academic Ambassador of the Council of Lindau Nobel Laureates both in Germany. I am currently directing and have developed a dynamics Centre for Genomics and Personalized Healthcare (CGNPH). Therefore, building infrastructures and capacity for genomics research in Nigeria. I teach and supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate biomedical sciences students in genomics and nanotechnology. I have contributed significantly to the available data in the genomics cancer and reproductive endocrinology in Nigeria and Africa.

I am involved in several global genomic consortium, extensive research endeavours, and collaborations in several areas of genetics of human diseases. I am currently directing a sustainable summer school for graduate students, postdoctoral fellow, resident doctor, and young faculty members to develop capacity for genomics research in Nigeria. The interface between Communicable and Non-communicable diseases particularly cancer and pathogens is my current passion. I am actively involved in the validation of invitro diagnostic kits including kits for diagnosis of COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria. I consult for several international organisations including onfrontiers consulting and contribute to government policies, including serving as board and committee members of the Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria.
