Dr Johns is a construction economics and construction management specialist with interest in sectorial and national competitiveness, industrial economics, informality, sustainable development, commercial management and design thinking. Her research work focuses on the market structure which underlies the competitiveness of firms in both formal and informal sectors, industries and nations. She holds a Phd in Building from the University of Lagos. She graduated from the University of Lagos in 2008 with a Masters degree in Construction Management. Her undergraduate degree is in Quantity Surveying from the University of Uyo. Over the years, she has worked as a project manager in construction firms, worked in consultant Quantity Surveying firm before joining the academia in 2009. conducted research in construction economics, construction management, informality and commercial management. She has mentored over 50 number of postgraduate and undergraduate students through direct project supervision. She is been trained and certified in Design Thinking, Supply Chain Management and Freight forwarding. She is a research adjunct of the University of Lagos and belongs to three academic research groups. She has over 10 publications and has won and managed two research grants.
