Dr. Osobase Anthony Onogiese is a lecturer in the Department of Economics, University of Lagos (UNILAG), Lagos state, Nigeria. He is a Development Economist (with keen interests in Health, Poverty, Labour, Growth, Public policy, Demography, Environmental Economics), and he has published and attended conferences in these areas of studies.

He studied at University of Lagos, where He earned the following Degrees:
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc., 2003)
Master of Science (M.Sc., 2008)
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D., 2017).

His Ph.D. thesis focused on the impact of HIV/AIDS on Household Welfare and was funded by African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), Kenya. He also gained several Graduate Fellowship Awards during his Doctoral studies. As a scholar, Dr. Osobase Anthony won two Ph.D Awards (Late Chief Festus Okotie-Eboh Academic Prize and Late Chief T. A. Odutola Annual Prize of Best Thesis in Public Finance, Banking, Finance and Economics in the 2017 convocation ceremony of the University of Lagos. In the past, he had served as Acting HOD (Christopher University, Mowe, Ogun state); member (Board of Director, Anchor University Service Limited, Ayobo, Lagos State) and External Examiner (National Open University of Nigeria, Abuja). Currently, he serves in different committees of the Department of Economics, UNILAG.
