Bamidele Akinsanya is an Associate Professor of Parasitology in the Department of Zoology, University of Lagos, Nigeria. He started his career on 14th October, 1999, as an Assistant Lecturer. He teaches both Undergraduate and Postgraduate students. His research area focus is on Animal Parasitology (Ichthyoparasitology) where he specialized in fish Parasitology, Parasites Ultrastructure, Histopathological consequences of Animal Parasites on their hosts and the use of Parasites as effective monitoring tools in Environmental Impact Studies.
Most importantly, he specialized in Fish Parasites Biodiversity and Species Composition in the aquatic habitat. This has led to the new research area of the use of fish parasites as environmental indicators. This has led to the publications of most of my research findings in Elsevier and Springer Journals.
