I am a Pharmaceutical Microbiologist from the prestigious University of Ibadan. My broad research interest is antimicrobial agents, chemotherapy, microbial genetics, and drug resistance in bacteria and One Health. My research activities involve investigating potential antimicrobials and bioactive compounds from various microbes and medicinal plant sources. My overarching issues of concern are the threat of extensively drug-resistant and pan drug-resistant bacteria and their genetic basis/mechanisms of resistance to antimicrobial agents such as mobile genetic elements, efflux pumps, and all forms of resistant enzymes production. I am a Fellow of the World Academy of Science (TWAS) and a visiting researcher to the Indian Institute of Toxicology Research. I am an active member of some scientific bodies and societies, and I am currently the National Publicity Secretary of the Nigerian Society of Microbiology.
