Dr. Eno Emmanuela AKARAWAK

Dr. Akarawak is a Lecturer, Researcher and Consultant with focus on Probability Distributions and Statistical Modelling. Recently, her research interest has shifted to Applied Statistics with focus on Environmentrics, Demography and Biostatistics, where she is applying Statistical methods in Infectious diseases and a wide range of real life situations. She has her Bachelor of Science degree in Education/Mathematics from the University of Calabar in 1996; Masters and Ph.D. in Statistics, both from the University of Lagos in 2004 and 2015, respectively. Over 10 years of experience, Dr. Akarawak has conducted a number of researches involving generation of new distributions; as well as modelling and has applied to diverse real life data. She teaches Statistics courses; mentored over 50 students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has consulted for private organizations and NGOs. She is a member of several academic organizations including: The Nigerian Mathematical Society (NMS); Population Association of America (PAA); American Statistical Association (ASA); International Biometric Society (IBS); Caucus of Women in Statistics, OWSD and International Statistical Institute (ISI), where she is one of the ISI Country Reps for the Committee of Women in Statistics. She has a number of publications in both local and international journals. Dr. Akarawak has also presented papers at both Local and International Conferences.
