Dr. Ernest Simeon Osikhena Odior is a professional Economist, he obtained a B.Sc. Hons degree in Economics from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, in 1997. After his National Youth Service Corp in 1998, he obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Economics in 2001 from Delta State University. Between 2002 and 2004, he functioned as a part-time Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Economics, Delta State University. In December 2004, he gained admission through the University of Benin, under the Collaborative PhD Scholarship Programme, for the SSA Countries of the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), Nairobi, Kenya and in Ibadan, Nigeria and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Economics in June 2008, from the Department of Economics and Statistics, University of Benin.

 

Odior has many local and international publications and specialises in Applied & Theoretical Econometrics, Monetary Economics, Development Macroeconomics and Macroeconomic Modeling. Odior has been actively involved in economic management consultancy in recent years, especially in Macroeconomic Modeling - using the Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) software. Also, in Statistical and Econometric Software training in the Centre for Econometric Policy and Research (CEPAR), University of Lagos. Currently, Odior is an Associate Professor and consultant in the Department of Economics, University of Lagos, Nigeria. Odior is a full member of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES) and the AERC Network.
