Dr. Julius O. EHIGIE

Julius is a lecturer in the department of mathematics with specialization in computational and applied mathematics. He had his undergraduate training at the Lagos State University (LASU), while his graduate degrees for both M.Sc. and Ph.D. where obtained from the prestigious University of Lagos. He was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Nanjing Agricultural University, China and was a key member of the Computational Biology research group where his research focused on some novel geometric integrators for genetic regulatory systems. During his stay at Nanjing, he was a beneficiary of several research grants and has replicated same at the University of Lagos as a recipient of conference travel grants and research grants. In 2019, he was recipient of an award of the European Mathematical Society Simons Visiting Fellowship to Southern Methodist University, Texas, USA where he studied Exponential Integrators with applications on genetic regulatory systems. His research works has been presented in both local and international conferences. Presently, his research focuses on construction, analysis and implementationof fast and high-order accurate numerical methods for the solutionof periodic / oscillatory initial value problems. He is interested in novel numerical integrators for systems of Partial, Ordinary, Stochastic and Fuzzy differential equations with applications in telecommunications, fluid dynamics, biology, chemistry and physics and has mentored several undergraduate and graduate students.
