Dr, Olajide Julius FAREMI

 

Dr Olajide Julius Faremi is a Lecturer at the Department of Building, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, University of Lagos. He is the cluster manager for the Sustainable Construction and Skills Development Research Cluster of the Centre for Urbanization and Habitable Cities, an Africa Universities Research Alliance (ARUA) Centre of Excellence. Dr Faremi holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Building, Master’s degree (MSc) in Construction Management and a Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D) in Building. His professional practice and research interest spans across construction management, maintenance management and facilities management. Dr Faremi is a registered Builder with the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON) and a certified Quality Management System (QMS) internal auditor to ISO 9001:2008 standard.  Prior to joining the academics, he held various Facility Management, Project Management and Construction Management positions in a number of organisations including Alphamead Facilities and Management Services Ltd, Construction and Allied Technical Services Ltd, Stallion Property and Development Company Ltd and Cornerstone Construction (Nig) Ltd. Dr Faremi vast experience spans across operational, tactical and strategic building production management, facilities and maintenance management, project planning, project coordination and execution, quality management and performance evaluation, organisation management review and gap analysis. Dr Faremi has mentored over 30 Undergraduate and 5 Post-graduate students on their final dissertations and theses respectively. He has over 8 years of research and teaching experience with over 20 publications in referred journals and learned conference proceedings both locally and internationally.
