Dr, Olatunji BABATOLA,

Dr. Babatola is a specialist in Human Geography with a sub-specialisation bias for Population mobility, health &leisure behavioural analysis and Planning intervention themes in Geography. He has his undergraduate degree in Geography and graduated from University of Lagos in 1983. He obtained the Masters of Philosophy (M.Phil.)  in Geography and Planning (Transportation Analysis) in 1992 from the same university. In the year 2006, he obtained his degree in Geography (Human migration & health behavioural analysis) also from the same university. He has taught undergraduate students and supervised their research projects in diverse areas of Human Geography for almost thirty years. He has in the past twelve years become actively involved in curriculum development, teaching and supervision of Masters and doctoral students specializing in Population, Tourism  and Planning intervention analysis in Geography. He was a UAPS research Lauret.  He participated as a in the ‘Agenda for Action to Improve the Implementation of Population Programs in Sub-Saharan Africa in the early 1990s’ as a Research Associate’.. He was a co-researcher in the SIDA/NCEPH funded research on sexuality and HIV/AIDS in, Sub-Saharan Africa on the platform on which he had a stint as a Visiting Fellow of the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health (NCEPH), Australian National University, Canberra, Australia. He also had a sabbatical tenure in Department of Tourism and Transportation Studies, The Redeemer’s University Mowe, Nigeria. He is a member of the Nigerian Geographical Association, (NGA), Association of American Geographers (AAG), Union for African Population Studies (UAPS), International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP) among others. A previous Acting Head of Department, Geography Unilag; He is the current Editor-In-Chief of the Social Science’s Journal of Lagos Journal.  He is a serving member of the Committee of experts interfacing between the Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) and the International Standard Organization (ISO) on tourism and Hospitality. He has over 30 publications  in local and foreign outlets.
