Dr. Olatunji Joseph OLADIRAN

Dr. Olatunji Joseph Oladiran is a Researcher, Lecturer and Professional Builder. His research interests focus on waste management, energy and materials science. He researches on minimization of construction materials wastages through novel strategies, development of frameworks and application of lean construction (LC). He also researches on development and performance of new construction materials; Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC); concrete aggregates’ replacements such as Palm Kernell Shells (PKS), Periwinkle Shells (PS), bamboo leaves; and appraisal of buildings for smart city. His current research revolves on reduction of building energy consumption and green-house gas (GHG) emissions through the development and application of super insulated materials (SIM) with specific focus on aerogels. He obtained his Diploma Degree in Building Technology from Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Nigeria in 1991; Bachelor’s degree in Building from Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria in 1995; and then received his Masters degree in Construction Management in 2005 and PhD degrees in Building in 2015 from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Dr. Oladiran has mentored and supervised over two hundred undergraduate and postgraduate students’ research projects. He was also the Principal Researcher in a research with grant awarded by TETFund. He is currently the post graduate (PG) and Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) Coordinators of the Department of Building, University of Lagos. He is a Registered Member of the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON); Corporate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB); Associate Member of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE); and Member of Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM). He has over 22 publications in Journals and 12 in Conference Proceedings.
