Owolabi is a Chemical Engineer with focus on  green and sustainable chemistry, biomass conversion into biofuel, biodiesel or bio-energy, chemicals and fuels derived from biomass building block, biocatalyst preparation, climate change, industrial chemicals and products with emphasis on agrochemicals and lubricating oil and additives, polymerization processes, polymer chemistry and synthesis, chemical kinetics, chemical process analysis, optimization and  reaction engineering. He has undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology,Ogbomoso, Oyo State in 2001;Masters degree in 2005 in Chemical Engineering from University of Lagos and Ph.D in Chemical Engineering from the University of Lagos in 2017. He was in Harvard University, USA for a short postdoctoral programme in  February 2018 till June 2018 where he further  received mentorship in atmospheric reactions and climate change. He is currently working on a number of  projects namely,Green fuels and chemicals from biomass feedstocks;Chemicals and additives from e-wastes and  a low cost biodiesel commercial scale process technology. He is a member of  the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), a Registered Engineer with the Council of the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and an affiliate member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers, UK.
