Dr. Rufus Wale Ojewale

Dr. Ojewola is a Consultant Surgeon with specialization in Urological Surgery. He had his undergraduate degree in Medicine and Surgery and graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife, Nigeria in 2001 and a Masters degree in Public Health from University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos, Nigeria in 2014. He had his postgraduate/residency training in Surgery (Urology) at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) and successfully completed the fellowship programmes of both the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) and the West African College of Surgeons (WACS) in Urological Surgery in 2011.  Dr. Ojewola was awarded Societe International D’Urologie (SIU) scholarship to train at Urology and Nephrology Centre, Mansoura, Egypt in 2011 and Leo Fung SIU- University of Minnesota Paediatric Urology Fellowship Award to train at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital, Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States of America in 2015. He was also awarded Commonwealth Medical Fellowship and had training in Endo-urology at the Royal London Hospital, Barts and the London School of Medicine, London, United Kingdom between December 2017 and May 2018.

Over the years, he has conducted research in Surgery and collaborated with others in other medical specialities. Dr. Ojewola is a fellow of the Medical College of Surgeons of Nigeria and West African College of Surgeons as well as a fellow of American College of Surgeons. He is also a Commonwealth Medical Fellow and a member of American Urological Association (AUA). He is a member of Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU), Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and Medical and Dental Consultant Association of Nigeria (MDCAN). He has authored about 40 scientific publications in both local and international journals.
