Dr. Gbotolorun is a Reproductive Biology and Endocrinologist with focus on fertility. She joined the Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, College of Medicine of the University of Lagos as an Assistant Lecturer in 2005. Over the years, she has acquired experience in teaching and research, and has mentored and supervised 14 students in the field of reproductive endocrinology and developmental biology at both Master’s and Ph.D. levels.

Dr. Gbotolorun has acquired skills in ovulation monitoring, ovarian and testicular morphology and histomorphometry using stereological tools. Her research is focused on enhancing/improving fertility and fertility outcomes in males and females. She is particularly interested in infertility of indefinable origin. Therefore, her research has sought to investigate the effect of some commonly used drugs, herbal plants, commonly consumed herbal mixtures/decoctions, and nutritional supplements, on fertility. Furthermore, because most fertility treatments for infertile couples are invasive and very expensive, her research focuses on non-invasive, inexpensive, readily available and easily accessible agents of plant origin for the treatment of infertility. She is currently an Associate Professor and has obtained membership of professional and academic bodies. She has published over 40 articles in peer-reviewed learned journals and is a recipient of national awards/grants.
