Dr Victor ODUMUYIWA is a senior lecturer in Computer Science Department of the University of Lagos, Nigeria. He is a member of the Advisory Board of Data Science Nigeria. He leads a research team focused on Data Science and Natural Language Processing. He is a certified security intelligence analyst and application security analyst. He has facilitated several cyber security trainings and also mentors aspiring cyber security experts. He is a member of the Global EPIC eco-system centred on innovation and cyber security. DrOdumuyiwa has served as technical programme committee member for various international conferences and workshops. He was the co-chair of the 9th International Conference on e‐Infrastructure and e‐Services for Developing Countries organized by the European Alliance for Innovation in December 2017 in Lagos.

Dr Odumuyiwa obtained his PhD in 2010 from Nancy 2 University in France. He was an ETT fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, USA in 2013. He is a member of Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), a member of Computer Professionals of Nigeria (CPN), a founding member of International Society for Knowledge Organisation (ISKO-West Africa), a member of ISKO-France, a member of the French national research group on Economic Intelligence (2008 – 2010) sponsored by Centre National de RechercheScientifique (CNRS), France. He was also a member of the American Society for Information Science and Technology (ASIST) from 2008-2010.

He has been involved in various international projects. He was appointed in 2014 as a stream coordinator in the applied computer science curriculum and learning content development project for the African Virtual University (AVU) sponsored by the African Development Bank for 19 African countries creating learning contents in three different languages-English, French and Portuguese.  He also participated in the SIST (Scientific Information System) project, a Franco-African project comprising of France and 12 African countries aimed at federating researchers across Africa and ensuring global dissemination of their research output. He also participated in a Franco-Nigeria collaboration project involving Université Nancy 2 France, French Foreign Affairs Ministry and four Nigerian universities.

Dr Odumuyiwa is proficient in French language and he is a visiting faculty to the World Bank funded Centre of Excellence in Mathematical Science and Applications at the Institut de Mathématiques et de Sciences Physiques(IMSP) in Porto-Novo, Benin Republique.

Dr. Victor Odumuyiwa combines computer and information sciences approaches in his research activities centred on information retrieval and collaboration systems, recommender systems,natural language processing, sentiment analysis, unstructured data mining and Web intelligence. He developed a pyramid model for managing collaborative information seeking process. He also developed MECOCIR –a collaborative information seeking browser. He is currently creating a Knowledge Network system to support collaborative learning and problem solving. He is also developing a new information visualization technique for multi-document visualization to enhance learning and decision-making.
