Dr. Fasina is an Inorganic Chemist with research interests design and synthesis of molecular materials and bioinorganic chemistry coupled with the study of structure-property relationships of these systems. She had her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of Lagos in 1984; Masters in Chemistry from University of Lagos and a Ph. D.  in Chemistry from the University of Lagos in 2002.  O

Over the years, she has been involved in synthetic Inorganic Chemistry with current interest in the development of metal complexes to combat some major tropical diseases. She has mentored over a hundred students in inorganic synthesis.

Dr. Fasina is a member of the Chemical Society of Nigeria (MCSN), Fellow of the Institute of Charted Chemists of Nigeria (FICCON), Member, Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC) and the American Chemical Society(MACS). She has 23 publications in both local and international journals.    She is involved in collaborations with the Departments of Microbiology and Biochemistry, Nigeria Institute of Medical Research and Prof. T. B. Marder of the University of Würzburg, Germany.
