Dr. Asekun is a Social Psychologist with interests in Identity formation, Social exclusion, Cognitive development and Research Methodology. He bagged his first degree in psychology from   University of Ibadan in 1999, he proceeded to University of Lagos, Akoka in 2005, where he obtained   his masters degree in Psychology in 2007. His Doctoral degree was awarded in April 20016, in Psychology by University of Nicosia, Southern Cyprus. He has published in several refereed journals and has presented in many international conferences organized by reputable conference  organisers. He was a former coordinator of Psychology Unit, Lagos State Polytechnic and has served in several of the institutions’ major committees which include: Committee on Seminars and Academic conferences, Committee on Internal Quality Assurance, Editorial committee on Journal publication among many others. He has authored two textbooks. He is presently a Lecturer 1 at the department of Psychology, University of Lagos where he serves in not less than 5 major committees of the department, including the Research and Development Committee.

 He was the recipient of Tetfund Institutional Based Research Grant in 2016.

 He also benefitted from Intervention grants of Tetfund in 2014 (Travel for Conference)
