Dr. Oyetunji Olukayode SORIYAN, has been in the field of Clinical Chemistry for about 18 years; six years as a resident and twelve years as a Medical Specialist (Consultant) in Chemical Pathology. He graduated from the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan in 1995 with an MBBS degree, obtained his postgraduate Academic Specialist Fellowship in 2006 from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in the speciality of Chemical Pathology. Dr. Soriyan is passionate about laboratory work and personally carried out most of all the experiments conducted in all his scientific research publications. He has gained exposure in the usage of quite a lot of analytical instruments such as the Abott IMx, TOSOH AIA 300 Immunoassay auto-analyser, Stat Fax (Awareness Technologies) and TECO Immunoassay microtitre plate readers and washers (ELISA), Winscor Vapour pressure Osmometer, Biomidi Electrophoresis machine, Crony Airone 200, Siemens Expand Plus, Beckman instruments (some CX & AU Series), SFRI ISE 6000 for both specialized and routine laboratory tests. He won the Professional Management Exchange Program (PMEP) Travel Grant of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) for a three months Laboratory and Quality Management Course at Tygerberg Hospital, University of Stellenbosch, Cape Town, South Africa in 2014. This exposure equipped and repositioned him for delivery of world class clinical chemistry laboratory service and quality research. In the past twelve years, he has mentored dozens of postgraduate and hundreds of undergraduate medical students.
