Dr. (Mrs.) Oyenike. A. Adeyemo is a Molecular Geneticist and she lectures in the Department of Cell Biology and Genetics, University of Lagos, Akoka.

She obtained her Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from the University of Lagos, Master of Science degree in Crop Protection and Environmental Biology (Plant and Genetics) from the University of Ibadan and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cell Biology and Genetics from theĀ  University of Lagos.

She is a Fellow of Leadership in Environment and Development (LEAD), United Kingdom and she was awarded the GLOBAL LEADER OF TOMMORROW (GLT) prize by the World Economic Forum, Geneva, Switzerland in 2002. She is a recipient of a number of Research Fellowships.

Her research interests are in molecular studies of diversity, conservation and utilization of plant genetic resources. In addition, she has interests in Forensic DNA analysis. Furthermore, in the identification of the phytochemical compounds of therapeutic value in medicinal plants.

She has 15 publications and a Principal Investigator in Tertiary Education Trust fund (TETFUND) GRANT, NIGERIA, 2018. I have supervised and mentored over 80 undergraduates and postgraduate research projects and I belong to three professional groups
