Bamidele Wale-Oshinowo obtained her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Management from Royal Holloway, University of London, United Kingdom. She currently lectures at the Department of Business Administration, University of Lagos. Her broad teaching and research interests are in the areas of entrepreneurship and strategic management. More specifically, she focuses on the following core research areas: firm culture, strategic orientations and performance indices of family businesses and micro-small-to-medium scale enterprises (MSMEs) in developing African economies. She has published in the fields of family business, entrepreneurship and gender-based research in national academic journals; and has also attended and delivered papers at academic conferences both within and outside Nigeria. In recent times, Bamidele has been invited to act in different capacities at academic and non-academic events; a few examples are as follows:  Appointed Judge for the 2018/2019 Nigerian Risks Award; Co-Proponent for the Family Business Track at the 2017 European Academic of Management (EURAM) Conference, held in the UK; One of the Discussants at the 12th Annual Global Business Symposium held at University of Cork, Ireland in 2017.

Bamidele is highly passionate about family entrepreneurship and almost 80 percent of her research activities is centred on harnessing the strategic resources embedded in family firms operating in developing and emerging economies across the African Continent. She collaborates widely across different locations and academic disciplines.  She currently uses an informal platform to reach out to small family businesses in Nigeria with the aim of bridging part of the existing gap between the academia and industry by providing advisory services to owners and managers of small family businesses in the following areas: succession planning; capacity building; resource identification and utilisation; and entrepreneurial skills development. Leisurely, she engages mostly in community projects and programmes that addresses youth and women empowerment.
