Miss Okinedo is a Graduate Assistant in the department of Cell Biology and Genetics with a focus on Molecular Pathology/Cancer Research. She has her undergraduate degree in Cell Biology and Genetics from University of Lagos, Nigeria in 2015. As an undergraduate, she worked on the Assessment of Genetic Diversity of Capsicum Species using Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) Markers. She also held the office of Vice President of the Cell Biology and Genetics Students Association (CBGSA). During her National Youth Service, she served in the department of Biological Sciences, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi where she was involved in coordinating Lab sessions, student assessments and part-time research assistance in Acha plant diversity.
