Dr. Joy Onyinyechi Ekwoaba, is an Employment Relations and Human Resource Management specialist with focus on organisational development, organisational psychology, organisational behaviours, employee resourcing, employee training, development and succession planning, employee performance management, corporate manpower planning, compensation and compensation management, human resource practices, strategies, and processes, comparative human resource management, comparative employment relations strategies, etc.

She has her undergraduate degree in Political Science from University of Lagos in 1999; Master in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from University of Lagos and a Ph.D. in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management from University of Lagos in 2016. She has over seventeen (17) years working experience:-  twelve (12) years in the food and beverage industry and the financial sector . 

Ekwoaba Joy Onyinyechi currently lectures at the Department of Employment Relations and Human Resource Management. She has conducted researches on compensation management, succession planning, trade dispute and conflict management, collective bargaining, deviant behaviours, child labour, non-standard work, discrimination at workplace,  organisational culture and workplace motivation, health and safety at workplace , labour policy, trade unionism, etc.   She has worked in Nigerian Bottling Company and Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc. Ekwoaba, Joy has mentors hundreds of students, worked with AIESEC Lagos, Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, National Open University of Nigeria, and University of Lagos Women Society. She is a member of Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM), Athens Institute of Management and Educational Research, The Nigerian Academy of Management (TNAM), Nigeria Labour and Employment Relations Association (NLERA), etc. She has Journal Articles published both nationally and internationally and is married with children.
