Dr. Obidi Olayide is an Industrial Microbiology specialist with focus on developing new technologies for the paint industry. She has her undergraduate degree  in Botany, graduated from Lagos State  University in 1993; Masters in 1997 in Industrial Microbiology from University of Ibadan and a Ph.D in Industrial Microbiology from the University of Lagos in 2008. Over the years, she has conducted research in Industrial Microbiology and Bionanotechnology, mentored several undergraduate and postgraduate students, worked as course adviser to students, departmental seminar and project coordinator, departmental lecture and examination timetable officer and departmental result processing officer. She is a member of several professional and academic groups including the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), Society for Applied Microbiology (SfAM) (UK), American Coatings Association (ACA), Caucus for Women in Statistics (CWS) etc. She has several publications and has won and managed a number of grants.
