Dr. Sowemimo is a Natural Product Researcher with focus on cancer research. She has an undergraduate degree in Botany and graduated from the Ogun State University in 1995; Masters in Pharmacognosy discipline from the Obafemi Awolowo University in 2000 and a Ph.D. in Pharmacognosy from the Obafemi Awolowo University in 2005. Over the years she has conducted research in inflammatory and anticancer activities of plants mentored over 50 students. She is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lagos and has achieved membership of three professional bodies and worked with about four academic groups and has about 32 (thirty two) publications and has won and managed  two (2) grants.
