Professor Omirin is a pioneer academic staff of the Department, she earned her B. Sc. degree in Estate Management with First class Honors from University of Nigeria, her M. Sc. degree in Urban Land Appraisal with distinction from University of Reading  and her Ph.D. in Land Economy from the University of Cambridge England. She joined the services of the University of Lagos in 1983 and has since been teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She has supervised eleven Ph.D. and several M. Sc. and B. Sc. research efforts all of which were very successful. Her forays into academic work has taken her as External Examiner across several institutions in Nigeria including University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus; Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife;  University of Uyo; Federal University of Technology Akure; Covenant University, The Bells University, Ota; Osun State College of Technology and Yaba College of Technology. In addition, she has also been a Visiting scholar at Cambridge University and at the University of Wolverhampton, England. She leads the land administration and management cluster at the University of Lagos Centre for Housing Studies and is also the current Head, of the University’s Department of Estate Management.
