Prof. Mike Adebamowo is an architect and sustainable architecture specialist with interest in thermal comfort, architectural science and energy use in buildings. His research work focuses on sustainable architecture,energy use in buildings, indoor environmental quality of buildings and environmental performance of buildings. He studied Architecture at University of Ife, (now OAU) Ile-Ife and finished his B.Sc and M.Sc degrees in 1986 and 1988 respectively.

 At Ife, he made a perfect CGPA Score of 5.0 in year one and obtained the National Merit Award,University of Ife Undergraduate Scholarship and O.A.U Postgraduate Fellowship Awards. He later obtained Master of Architecture degree with Distinction at the University of Lagos and Ph.D degree in Geography and Planning

 

Prof. Mike Adebamowo joined the service of the University of Lagos in 1995 and became a Professor in April 2015. He has served the University in various capacities, as Head, Department of Architecture and he is the immediate past Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences. The erudite scholar has over 40 publications in National and International Journals and one of his publications won the best paper award of Emerald in 2018.

 

As a Consulting Architect, he has designed and supervised several building projects covering various building types including Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Religious and Institutional:- notable among these are the Golden Park Estate, Lekki, remodeling of Faculty of Arts Building, Unilag; Martinos Event Centre; R&A City Hotel Ikeja; The Summit Hall; Multi-Storey Car Park for Island Club; and The Citadel Church Building and the Redeemers Health Village.  All these projects have positive impact on the environment. He is a member of Network for Comfort and Energy Use in Buildings (NCEUB) UK, member American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), Fellow of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Mitigation (SETPOM) and Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA). He has supervised over 300 Masters and 13 PhD Students successfully and managed research grants.
