Ini-ibehe Essien OKOKO is currently serving as a LECTURER 1 in the Department of Anatomy, College of Medicine, University of Lagos. She joined the Department of Anatomy in 2009 as an Assistant Lecturer. She is a researcher in the field of Reproductive Biology and Neuroendocrinology with focus on the impact of certain food substances on fertility and the nervous system.  Her greatest desire is to find solutions to infertility of unknown origin and neurological degeneration that stems from food substances.

Ini-ibehe earned her B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Human Anatomy from University of Calabar, Cross River State in 1994; Masters in Anatomy from University of Lagos in 2008.

Dr. OKOKO, accepted her Ph.D. in reproductive biology and neuroendocrinology from the University of Lagos in the year 2016.

During the course of her Master’s and Ph. D. training, she acquired skills in animal handling, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, basic histology and stereology.  She has used these skills to carry out various researches in her area of specialization and collaborated with researchers in other Departments and Faculties within her university and beyond. She has supervised post graduate students and has published articles in scientific journals.

She is a member of several professional bodies.
