Dr. Stephen I. OGUNGBEMI

Dr. Stephen is a Human Physiologist with focus on Electrophysiology and Intervention in Sickle Cell Disease.  He is an alumnus of University of Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria (B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Physiology). He is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physiology, University of Lagos with about 14 years of experience in the department. I have supervised 11 postgraduate students both in Physiology and Biomedical Engineering who are working in various hospitals, institutions, laboratories and some are already in higher degree programmes.

I am a member of Physiological Society of Nigeria, African Association of Physiological Sciences, The Physiological Society (UK), The American Physiological Society, Lagos University Medical Society. I am currently looking at riboseine intervention in sickle cell disease and drug design proposals for sickle cell intervention. I also have interest in acquiring skills in Computational Neuroscience and Intelligence and Neuroinformatics.
