Dr. Aigbe is an academic with a research focus on the assessment of xenobiotics including drugs and food for their effect on the cardiovascular system, seeking to identify possible contributors to the pandemic of cardiovascular disorders that account for the most number of deaths worldwide. Her team is also working to discover substances that may be beneficial for the prevention and management of cardiovascular diseases. She studied Pharmacology at the University of Lagos, graduating with a BSc (Hons.) degree in 2004, Masters in 2007 and a PhD in 2014 from the University of Lagos. For over 8 years, she has conducted research in Pharmacology and Toxicology, mentored over 50 students who now work in various establishment including pharmaceutical industries, government and private organizations. Some of her past students are currently pursuing post graduate study level programmes in Universities across the world. She is currently a member of several professional and academic groups and has a number of publications in peer reviewed journals, won several awards and managed a number of research grants.
