Dr. Agunbiade is a Town Planner and a Geo Spatial Data specialist with focus on Spatial Data Infrastructure and Land Administration. He has his undergraduate degree in Urban and Regional Planning and graduated as the overall best student in the Faculty of Environmental Design and Management, Obafemi Awolowo University in 1992; He also has a master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems obtained in 1999 from University of Ibadan and a Ph.D. in Infrastructure Engineering from the University of Melbourne, Australia in 2013. Over the years, he has significant experience, conducting research in urban planning, urban governance, spatial data infrastructure, housing and land administration. He has mentored over 50 undergraduate and postgraduate students through direct project supervision. He is member of a number of professional and academic groups. In particular, he is a member of Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP) and a Registered Town Planner with the Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria (TOPREC); Founding member, Global Spatial Data Infrastructure (GSDI), Member, Association of American Geographers (AAG), Member, American Planning Association (APA). He has over 20 journal publications and book chapters as well as several peer-reviewed conference proceedings. He has won and participated in five research grants.
