Martin Dada is a Professor of Building with special research interests in construction procurement, construction digitalisation and stakeholder management. Professor Dada has supervised more than 150 masters students and supervised (or co-supervised) five PhD students. Dada has several publications in both national and international journals, books of readings in addition to conference proceedings. Professor Dada is equally a building construction, maintenance and deconstruction management expert, who has successfully managed the construction of several large scale residential, institutional, commercial and industrial buildings in Nigeria. A registered Builder and a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Building, Professor Dada is a strong advocate for the marriage of theory and practice in construction project procurement. He has served in several national and sub-national committees on construction related matters in Nigeria. He was on the Governing Board of the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria between 2008 and 2017, where he served as Vice Chairman between 2013 to 2017. Professor Dada is the CIB (International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction) contact person for University of Lagos and he is also a member of the CIB Commission on public-private-partnerships.
