Professor O. Olusegun AYEJUYO
Faculty
Chemistry, Science

Prof. Ayejuyo has spent the last twenty years contributing to research in the field of Analytical/Environmental Chemistry. He has his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from University of Benin. Benin-City in 1985; Master in Analytical Chemistry from University of Ibadan, Ibadan in 1987,  a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from University of Ibadan, Ibadan in 1995, and a Diploma in Environmental Management from Galilee Institute of Management, Mizra, Israel in 2008. He is a member of the America Chemical Society, Chemical Society of Nigeria and he has mentored over 100 Postgraduate students. He has over 50 publications, has won and managed two grants and scholarship. His current research in Analytical and Environmental Chemistry is focused on the development of sensitive novel analytical methods for trace analyses and determinations of organic/inorganic contaminants in the environment. Specifically HPLC, GC-equipped with ECD, AAS and UV-Visible spectrophotometric methods are being utilized to detect, identify and quantify emerging contaminants such as Persistent Organic Pollutants, Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons, and the Potentially Toxic Metals in multimedia samples.
