Professor Solomon Oladele AKINBOYE

As an academic, Professor Akinboye areas of research interest include International Relations. He was a recipient of the Federal Government Scholarships at both the undergraduate and doctoral levels. He was in 2000, a Fulbright Fellow at the University of Delaware, Newark (U.S.A). He has served the University of Lagos in numerous positions including Head of Department of Political Science, Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Member of the University of Lagos Senate and Chairman of the Search Team for the Appointment of Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos. He was the former Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies, University of Lagos. He has published widely in local and international/foreign journals including the Journal of Global Initiatives, Globalization, Third World Forum, Africa Insights, Review of African Political Affairs, Indian Journal of Federal Studies, Quarterly Journal of Administration, International Review of Politics and Development and the Nigerian Journal of International Affairs. Professor Akinboye was a Visiting Professor and Scholar in the Department of Political Science and International Affairs, Kennesaw State University, Atlanta, Georgia (U.S.A) where he taught Comparative Politics and Politics of Developing Areas. He has supervised students at Ph.D., Masters and Undergraduate level. He has served as External Examiner to a number of Universities within and outside Nigeria including the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ahmadu Bello University, University of Benin, University of Uyo, Lagos State University, Babcock University, Crawford University and the University of Sierra Leone.
