Temitope Temenu is a researcher and Assistant Lecturer. Her research focuses on the ecology and application of algae from the soil, trees and water bodies. A key area is evaluation of antioxidant properties of freshwater algae. Her research also includes lipid composition of algae and processes involved in the conversion to biofuels. She is currently examining the use of natural algal assemblages to strip nutrients from wastewater and produce biomass for biofuels production. She held her Masters degree at the University of Lagos and received the best research presentation award from the Phycological Society of Nigeria. She is a member of professional bodies and published some of her research in peer-reviewed journals. She hopes to train students to be able to conduct quality research whose findings can be beneficial in long-term sustainability and profitability.
