Dr Victor Uju Ilechukwu was born on 1st October, 1964 at Onitsha in Anambra State of Nigeria. He attended St Michael Primary School, Fegge, Onitsha between 1970 and 1974; and Merchants of Light Secondary School, Oba between 1975 and 1979. Also, he attended University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) for his first degree in Urban and Regional Planning in 1988 and University of Ibadan for his M.Sc and PhD degrees in 1991 and 2012 respectively.After his graduation, he worked briefly with Centre for African Settlement Studies and Development (CASSAD), and Urban Development Consultant (UDC), both in Ibadan between 1991 and 1997. In 2005, he joined University of Lagos as an Assistant Lecturer in the dept of Urban and Regional Planning, Faculty of Environmental Sciences and currently as Lecturer I.

His areas of research interest are land and housing development determinants, Urban Economics, Research Method, and Urban and Regional Planning. He has conducted research in Model City Development Plans in Lagos and also mentored over 100 and 25 undergraduate and postgraduate students respectively, in area of housing and related researches.He has about 24 international and national publications and conference papers till date. His areas of professional expertise are land and housing developments.Dr Ilechukwu is a member of Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP) and a registered town planner with Town Planning Registration Council (TOPREC) of Nigeria. He is married with 4 children.
