Dr. Sola Ogunbayo is a poet, literary critic and mythologist. His essay entitled "Prophetic Myth in Selected Fiction of Ben Okri (JLS, 2012)" is highly rated and quoted amongst scholars as invaluable contribution to the study of myth criticism. His research interest primarily is in myth criticism where he observes recurring patterns such as faction, birth, rebirth , love , contamination, fraternity , amongst others, in the  poetry of Africa and European cultures. These patterns, otherwise known as "archetypes", are perpetual standpoints  where valuable, ideational perspectives are decipherable.
