Dr. Abidemi C. ADEGBOYE

Abidemi C. Adegboye holds a doctorate degree in Economics from the University of Benin. His research areas include fiscal policy and management, development economics, and applied econometrics with focus on labour markets in developing countries. He is a research scholar with the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), Kenya, and a member of the Development Studies Association, United Kingdom. He has been involved in consultancy services with the National Institute of Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), the United Nations Economic Commission for West Africa (UNECA), and African Development Bank (AFDB).

Dr Adegboye’s research paper on governance and employment elasticity in sub-Saharan Africa won the best research paper award at the 2017 African Economic Conference organised by the AfDB, ECA and UNDP in Addis Ababa. In 2020, Dr. Adegboye’s thesis emerged as the overall best in Nigeria by the Nigerian Economic Society (NES). He has also won grants from the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), UNECA and AfDB and has published in both local and international Journals. He currently teaches Macroeconomics and Development Economics in the Department of Economics.
