Pharmaceutical Chemistry

Dr. Celina Ogah is a pharmacist/Senior Lecturer with focus on analytical and medicinal chemistry. She graduated from the University of Benin in 1984 with a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree. She obtained a Masters degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from University of Lagos in 1995 and a Ph. D in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the same university in 2008. Over the years, she has conducted research in the area of pesticide residues in food; safety of drugs, food and consumer products; pharmaceutical equivalence of drug products and testing of natural products for biological activity. She has mentored 41 undergraduate and postgraduate students. She has worked as a visiting researcher at the Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK and as Health and Safety officer at Forte Oil, Apapa, Lagos. She is a Fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists and member of several professional and academic groups.  She has won and managed a University of Lagos Mini Research Grant and has a number publications in learned journals.
