Prof. Musa is a professor of Quranic Studies and Islamic Education at the University of Lagos, Nigeria. He obtained B.A (Hons) in Arabic Studies in 1989, M.A and (Ph.D) in Arabic & Islamic Studies in 1991 and 2000 respectively from the University of Jos and a Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching in Higher Education (PGDTHE) in 2007 from the University of Ibadan. He was the pioneer Ag.Head, Department of Religious Studies, University of Lagos. He is the Editor, Journal of Religion and Contemporary Issues and the current Chief Imam of the University of Lagos Muslim Community. Musa is a Co-ordinator, Diploma in Mosque Leadership and Management programme and Resource person, Methodologies of Integration of Knowledge for the International Institute of Islamic Thought, West Africa, 2019 to date. He has to his credit over 40 publications including four books and articles in learned journals. He is the sole author of Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam: 1916-2019 (2017), Role Modelling in Islam: The Legacies of Jibril Martin (2012) and Islamic Leadership: Imam Ligali Nolla and his progeny (2007). He co-edited Integration of Knowledge (2021) and Islam in Yorubaland (2018). He is a member of Nigeria Association of Teachers of Arabic and Islamic Studies (NATAIS) and National Association For the Study of Religions (NASR) among others.
