Dr. Awobajo Funmileyi Olubajo is an Associate Professor of Physiology at the University of Lagos. He is also a Principal Investigator at the group for Research in Endocrinology and Metabolism Department of Physiology of same Institution. He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Physiology from the University of Ibadan and a Ph.D. in Physiology from University of Lagos. His research interest is in fetal programming and the contributions of the placenta to this phenomenon. He has successfully supervised a total of twenty MSc. theses and currently supervising a PhD research student in his field of expertise. He has acted as principal investigator or co-principal investigator in over twenty five research projects and produced about sixty publications in refereed journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Awobajo has served as External Examiners to both public and private University both in Nigeria and Outside Nigeria. He has delivered papers in both local and international conferences..He has to his credit multiple researches grants and awards from the University of Lagos Central Research Fund and Lagos State Science Research and Innovation Council and TETFUND. His awards and distinctions include but not limited to the Indian National Science Academy (INSA)-TATA Postdoctoral Fellowship, The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) Postdoctoral Fellowship to National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health (NIRRH) Mumbai and Lagos State Science Research and Innovation council grant and the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) Research Grant.He is a recipient of multiple travel grants.
