Oyekunle Oyelami is a scholar in the Areas of Community Development, Social Work Education, Social Welfare and Adult Education Policy. Oyelami is a holder of National Certificate in Education (NCE), he obtained his first degree from the University of Ibadan in 1998 with B.Ed (Hons), Second Class, Upper Division, in Adult Education and Political Science, Master Degree (M.Ed) in Adult Education Specializing in Community Development from the University of Ibadan in 2000 and obtained a Ph.D in Adult Education specializing in Community Development and Social Welfare issues in 2007. Oyelami is presently an Associate Professor of Community Development and Social Work Education, in the Department of Adult Education of the University of Lagos. He has supervised over 38 M.Ed in the Area of Adult Education with bias in Community Development and Social Work Education and at least over 95 undergraduate students.

Oyelami has also successfully supervised 5 Ph.D students as either the first or second supervisor and is currently supervising 5Ph.D students as major supervisor and 4Ph.D students as second supervisor. He has over 47 publications in reputable Local and Foreign Journals. He is presently the vice president (south) Community Development Association of Nigeria (CDAN) and an active member of the Nigerian National Council for Adult Education (NNCAE). Oyelami is the managing Editor of the Journal of Educational Thought (JET), an official Journal of the Department of Adult Education, University of Lagos, also He is on  the board of Lagos Educational Review, an official Journal of the Faculty of Education, University of Lagos, Nigeria
