Dr. Erere Otrofanowei had her primary medical training at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) in Edo State, Nigeria.  Her internal medicine residency was at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital which she completed in record time and was awarded a Fellowship of the Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in Internal Medicine (Dermatology and GenitoUrinary Medicine) in December, 2015.

She is a Lecturer with the Department of Medicine at the College of Medicine of the University of Lagos as well as a Consultant Dermatologist and GenitoUrinary Physician with the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH). She is a fellow of the Nigerian Association of Dermatology, the International Society of Dermatology, the Skin of Colour Society and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology as well as the European Association of Dermatology and Venereology. 

Dr. Otrofanowei has special research interests in Contact Dermatitis, Cutaneous Oncology and Dermatology Surgery. She is also trained in aesthetic dermatology and is skilled with pigmentary disorders in black skin. She mentors many of her junior colleagues and is a great team player who believes in giving back to her society.

 She has authored and co-authored many papers in peer-reviewed journals and spoken at both local and international conferences in her chosen field. She is happily married with children and enjoys traveling, listening to music and swimming.
